It is great that you are thinking about joining our Scout Group. If you are an adult or a child, scouting is a great adventure that we are keen to encourage people of all ages to take part in.
For ages 14 and under, please check out these links (Beaver, Cub and Scout) to see what we get up to and what we can offer you, we are a very active group with a programme designed to meet all needs, with many camps, hikes and challenges – but most of all lots of fun!
If you are ready to join the adventure, then please ask your parent or carer to ‘Contact Us’
Parent/Carer: Please give your child’s full name, date of birth, home address and a contact telephone number.
We will then contact you to answer any questions you may have and offer you a place. If the section you wish to join is full then you will be placed on our waiting list, and contacted as soon as you reach the top. We run our waiting lists on a strictly first come first served basis and then by age eligibility, so if you want to join don’t leave it too long to get in touch.
We occasionally run a parent rota, for helping out at meetings, this is generally only for one or two meetings a year. This is a great way for you to find out what your child is getting up to and even take part in some of our activities (most of our adult helpers find it great fun, often offering to help time and time again!)
Volunteering to be an adult helper/assistant is a fantastic opportunity to see what the children get up to. Why should children have all the fun!
It is not only about the fun you will have but also what you could offer the group. If you have a particular interest or skill, please let us know if you wish to share it with the children.
We appreciate that some parents will only be able to give a couple of hours a year whilst others may want to take a more active role, working directly with the children and coming on camps/trips!
There are lots of different roles that adults can take within the scouting group, from being involved in the sections directly or being more in the background and becoming a member of our very friendly committee! Please have a look around the website at the various roles and contact us to discuss what you would like to do.
All adults volunteering to help on a regular basis with our Scout Group are required by law to complete an adult application form (which includes CRB/ISA checks).
If you would like to take it one step further and join our team of uniformed leaders then please talk to one of our leaders or check out this link for more information, click here for more information . We offer full training and support, lots of fun and laughter!
How much will it cost you?
As a group we believe that being an active member of our adult team should not cost you financially, we will pay your membership fee, training costs, and for a uniform (where appropriate). If you are helping out on a trip or camp we will also endeavour to cover your costs where possible.
